Ebris

Welcome to the magical world of Ebris.

Ebris is the planet upon which the campaigns of Roll With Adventure take place.

It is said that the world of Ebris was formed by the Triadrien Pantheon in the beginning of time - as were each race. The known world contains two continents: the north-western continent of Aventi and the south-eastern desert continent of Zh`rydae. Rumours abound of a distant continent in the far east and of jungles teaming with life and strange beings beyond the Stormspan shrouding the southern tip of Aventi.

Ebris is a large and complex world and the adventures of our heroes take place on the continent of Aventi. While Ebris may have several different continents those from Aventi are not aware of any other continents - to them Aventi is the whole world.

Come and learn more about this strange place.

Continent: Aventi

In the western seas of Ebris lies the continent of Aventi, which is made up of three major regions. Northern Aventi, divided from the rest of Aventi by the great mountain range known as the Bitter Reach and home to the mighty Goliaths, Shifters, and the Frost Jarls of Rheln, is a land of ice and snow - a harsh realm scoured by the winds of the Shattering Sea. Central Aventi, in more recent years known as the Peacelands, contains a number of nations, including the Kingdom of Westmark and the Free-Cities of the Alliance while it also contains the regions of the dangerous, tainted Blightscar and the lawless Badlands. Farther to the south, beyond the massive inland lake known as the Sea of Shattered Sky, is the region often referred to as the Southlands made up of two nations: the ironfisted Republic of Talren and the secretive Elven forest kingdom of Oskorul. In the farthest reaches of Aventi, beyond the forest Kingdom of Oskorul lies the Stormspan: a stretch of mountains and water enshrouded in ever present fog and storms so thick that no ship can navigate what may lay beyond it - yet rumours abound of a landmass beyond the mist: a verdant land of jungles and strange beings.

Kingdom: Westmark

Located in the northern area of the region of Aventi known as the Peacelands, the Kingdom of Westmark is one of the three main powers on the continent - alongside the southern Republic of Talren and the combined might of the centralized Alliance of Free-Cities. Westmark is made up of two provinces and a territory. The eastern province of Lorewyr - known for its coastal trade and the academic bent of its regional capital. The central province of Hartland - home to Ogdenfel, the capital city of Westmark, and from where Queen Rosetta Markenalia IV rules. And the western territory of the Dweomermarches, a land of swamps, forests, plains, and dark rumours beneath the ever present shadow of the Dweomermount.

Territory: Dweomermarches

Once lawless, the territory of the Dweomermarches has only recently been subjugated by the Westmarkian kingdom within the past 200 years. Now, this distant province still struggles to recover from the infamous Flare Plague and the constant threat of war. Will separatists splinter the fragile peace? Or does something darker foment unrest in the shadow of the Dweomermount?

City: Dweomerhollow

The Jewel of the Dweomermarches, the small city of Dweomerhollow is the largest city in the Dweomermarches and the sole reason for Westmark’s control over the valley. Built where three major trade routes intersect, Dweomerhollow is a key economic and strategic city for Westmark.

Location: Dweomermount

The source of the name for the region of the Dweomermarches, the Dweomermount is a location shrouded in myth and dark rumour. The tallest mountain on the continent of Aventi, snow shrouds its crags and peaks and above it an ever present storm rumbles. Multiple outcroppings stretch out from it like the jagged spines of a great beast. It is said that mining operations have been attempted within the Dweomermount, expanding on a largely unmapped network of caverns - some attempts lasting for years as they dug into the depths - but, all seemingly ending in tragedy. Rumour has it that ruins and chambers carved by hand and magic can be found across and within the depths of the Dweomermount - but carved by what magic and whose hands?

Location: Darkling Forest

Surrounding the Dweomermount, and taking up large sections of the central and northern Dweomermarches, is the dense Darkling Forest. A forest often referred to in folklore as a bewitched wood with many fey glades, the Darkling Forest is a dangerous place. Insects the size of children, vines that seek to strangle, and other terrors lay within the mist laden branches.  The Darkling Forest is bisected by the Darkling River which is perhaps the easiest method of travel from Dweomerhollow up to the northern communities near Bleakshallow Falls or to the north east along the Twin Falls branch of the river. Rumour has it that within the depths of the Darkling Forest lies ancient ruins perhaps even older than the Iltheran Empire.
